The Frisco Economic Development Corporation announced today the launch of an investment zone pilot program that provides support to qualified businesses and property owners in the Frisco Rail District. The program provides performance-based matching grants for Type-A qualified improvement projects within the Frisco Rail District. Approved applicants may be eligible to receive up to a 50% reimbursement for approved development expenses after improvements are completed. “The Frisco EDC board is proud to launch an initiative that supports local businesses and advances the City’s priority of revitalizing downtown Frisco,” said Jason Dudley, Chair of the Frisco EDC Board of Directors. “Our goal is to help attract a daytime and nighttime economy to the Rail District to support more commerce in the area.” Applications are now open on the Frisco EDC website. At the midpoint of the Frisco EDC's 5-Year Strategic Plan, from October 2021 through April 2024, the Frisco EDC Team has closed 🏗 45+ relocation and expansion projects 📈 $950.9 million (just $49M shy of $1B) in tax base improvements 🏙 2.6 million square feet of commercial real estate absorbed (the equivalent of a 104-story office tower) 👷♀️ 7,800 new jobs in Frisco associated with companies such as TIAA, Boingo, Ruiz Foods, McAfee, Toshiba, Extenet, Plug and Play Tech Center and more. 🚘 Frisco's talent shed has been reduced to 62.8% in 2023 from 86% in 2019. Thank you to the Frisco Chamber of Commerce for inviting the Frisco EDC to be a part of its inaugural Development Summit. Frisco EDC President Jason Ford gave an overview of all of the growth that is happening in Frisco, generating nearly $1 billion in capital expenditure and thousands of new jobs over the last few years. We also heard updates on Fields, Frisco Station, and the Frisco Rail District. One thing is certain – Frisco is growing and thriving. Frisco is the place to be!
